Why a Tear Became the Most Sacred Seed on Earth
The Poison
When the oceans were churned, a poison rose that could end all creation. No god would touch it. Shiva drank it — and held the world's pain in his own throat.
The Tears
Ages later, opening his eyes from deep meditation for the good of all beings, Shiva wept. Where his tears touched the earth, a tree grew — Rudra-aksha, "the tears of Rudra."
Your Sawan
Every Shravan, devotees return that compassion — jal on the Shivling, a Rudraksha on the skin. This year, that month is yours: 30 July to 28 August.
"He carried the world's poison so you wouldn't carry yours alone.
This Sawan, carry his blessing instead."
